Slot machines are one of the most favored games to gamble on at casinos. On any night, count on most of the machines to be packed with eager players. They come in a multitude of playing levels; some only cost $.05 a spin while others can cost as much as twenty dollars a spin. Although slot games are a gambling tool, a lot of folks are intimidated by the big money table games and are partial to the delight and exhilaration of a great slot machine game.
The first mechanical slot machine was assembled in 1895 and was dubbed the "Liberty Bell." Created by a California auto mechanic, the 1st slot games had three spinning reels with diamonds, hearts, spades and a cracked Liberty Bell on each. Before this invention, the phrase "slot machines" was employed to characterize various types of vending machines.
The initial widespread use of slot machines in US brick and mortar casinos is credited to the Flamingo Hotel, Vegas in and around 1940. The administrator of the betting house had originally thought the machines would be great to entertain bored wives of a few of the largest high roller customers of the betting house. He did not know that slot machines would be an enjoyable game for nearly everyone and that the appeal would go further than the apathetic wives. At this time, it is said, slot machine games make up over two-thirds of all income brought in by American casinos.
The slots absolutely have a full history. From the little invention of the late-19th century to the billion dollar sector of today, slots will continue to develop in universal appeal.
