There is an urban story out there about a man who could go into any Gambling house in any town, walk directly up to a slot machine game, whisper something into its slot, pull on its arm and out would pour a jackpot.
He was recognized as the Slot machine game Whisperer.
Well, I have certainly not met anybody similar to that. Except in almost every Gambling establishment I’ve been I’ve heard people talk of this tale.
I’ve noticed men and women talk to slot machines. I’ve witnessed people yell at slots. I have viewed persons smack slot machines. But I have by no means seen them win the jackpot following doing such a thing.
The first time I heard about the Slot machine Whisperer I was in a Reno Gambling establishment. I was betting blackjack when I heard a thrill go by way of the Gambling den. The player next to me, his name was George, advised me that the buzz was because a person had spotted the Slot machine game Whisperer enter the Gambling establishment. He then went on to tell me the tale of the Whisperer and how he had mastered slot machines.
Shortly after that there have been security guards jogging all around. And they were all bee lined to the slot area.
He told me this was highly unusual as the Slot machine game Whisperer was a very gentle man. And that he only took the jackpot from one slot machine. He never ever tried to take a Gambling den for each and every slot machine jackpot. He also advised me that the Whisperer also gave half of his slot machine game jackpots to an orphanage. He wasn’t a greedy man.
A few minutes later we saw security escorting a man out of the slot pit. The word was that he was not the Slot machine game Whisperer except some burglar who was trying to use an electrical gadget to defraud the slots.
I’ve never run into the Slot machine Whisperer. I do not know if he even exists. I think of him as a city legend or a myth a few slot machine game gambler dreamed up.
But the thought of an individual who can master slot machines just by speaking softly to them is kind of enchanting. Like a modern day Betting house Robin Hood.
